While this installment was likely far from what fans were expecting, you have to appreciate the attempt to give Cooking Mama its own lore and deviating so far from the classic formula. Rather than feeling repetitive, it actually lends a nice sense of progression to the prep-work; recognizing what to do when you see a certain ingredient or step will make you feel like you’re learning to cook — in Cooking Mama’s world, at least — and the “I know what to do here! In the case of games that use cloud streaming technology, only the free launcher application can be downloaded.

Gameplay involves the player following the instructions of the titular "Mama" to cook various meals. The ability to customise your cooking experience by changing your outfit and pasting stickers you earn around the kitchen means you’ll feel right at home whenever you pull on your apron!Tilting a strainer too far and spilling all our carefully cooked rice into the sink, for instance, merited an approving thumbs up and a ‘Not too bad!

The very first Cooking Mama game brought a whole new casual and yet chaotic feel to the Nintendo DS. Like Cooking Mama Seasons, it allows the player to cook a variety of recipes; several of which are obtainable through in-game purchase. In perhaps what was the most bizarre spin-off to the Cooking Mama series, Babysitting Mama adapted its mini-game mechanics to none other than childcare. The menu includes simple snacks such as fried eggs, to full cordon bleu-style culinary masterpieces.It keeps things friendly and accessible for everyone, including younger players, and makes each recipe an experience to enjoy rather than a challenge to overcome.

With it, players can chop, slice, pan fry, knead, grate, mash, tenderise, mix, peel, carve, roll and much more besides. Not to mention, this was the game to introduce the rest of Mama's family and the "Cooking Mama lore", if you will. But you get the point: we're seeing a new trend emerge, even though it's based on an old new trend: the Battle Royale. But remember, Mama is always by your side to offer friendly advice and a kind word if you singe the sausages or bungle the bean dip.In November 2022, an arbitration ruling declared Planet Entertainment was not authorized to release Cooking Mama: Cookstar, and that the rightsholders would work to remove the game from sale. I am not one to be sentimental or cry over things such as video games but this came to me in a time of difficulties. The series so far consists of five main games on Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS, two spin-offs on Wii, two spin offs on DS, and a spin off on 3DS.

This was the first Cooking Mama game released on a platform to receive a third-party console release. After your payment has been processed, the content will be downloaded to the applicable system linked to the respective Nintendo Account, or respective Nintendo Network ID in the case of Wii U and Nintendo 3DS family systems.
