About this deal

Network adapters are one of the many pieces that connect us to the internet. They're usually an antenna or card built into your device, but can also be plug-in USB dongles or antennae that allow purely wired devices to receive data wirelessly. Step 3: Use Ethernet on your iPhone. Plug one end of your Ethernet cord into a router or modem and the other end into an Ethernet – Lightning adapter. Then, plug the adapter into your phone’s charging port. For best results, you should use different upstream networks for your WiFi and Ethernet. These connections should come from two separate routers. You are limited to 5 devices using the native hotspot - so if you wanted/needed more then you'd have to be creative with a router & nat - or a proxy server. Open the Settings app: Tap on the Settings icon on your iPhone’s home screen to launch the Settings app. If you don’t already have an Ethernet cable, you can easily find one online or at physical retailers such as Best Buy and Walmart. Ethernet cables are graded by cable category, with higher numbers offering more bandwidth.

Plug the adapter into your iPhone: Insert the adapter with the connected Ethernet cable into the Lightning or USB-C port of your iPhone. Ensure that it is securely connected. Save the settings: Once you have configured the Ethernet settings as needed, tap on the “Save” or “Apply” button to save the changes. Your Android device must be running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or higher and be disconnected from Wi-Fi and cellular service to connect via Ethernet. Both can be turned on and off by swiping down from the top of the screen and tapping their respective icons. A network adapter is not the same thing as a router. Your router is the gateway that directs wireless traffic to your devices from the internet, while the adapter allows your device to connect to the network and receive that data.

Step 5: Test the Connection

Alternatively, go to Settings > Network & internet (or Connections) and turn off the switch for Wi-Fi. Go to Mobile Network and turn off the switches for mobile data and roaming. You can also simply turn on the switch for Airplane mode, which automatically disables Wi-Fi and cellular connections for your device. Use any app or Safari and you'll see TURN OFF AIRPLANE MODE OR USE WIFI TO ACCESS DATA--( (IGNORE THIS MESSAGE ) You may also encounter the "This accessory is not supported by iPhone" message. Ignore that too. Use a high-quality Ethernet cable: Opt for a reliable and high-quality Ethernet cable to ensure a stable and efficient connection.

You can it for messaging with a message app like Signal or What's App or Facebook. You can go online and basically do everything except traditional texting and calling. Research and choose the right adapter: Look for Ethernet adapters that are specifically designed for your iPhone model. Consider factors such as the connector type (Lightning or USB-C) and the brand’s reputation for compatibility and performance.Reliability: Unlike wireless connections, Ethernet offers a more stable and reliable internet connection. This is particularly beneficial when you are in an area with weak Wi-Fi signals or when you need a consistently strong connection for activities such as video streaming or online gaming. Apple doesn't make a Lightning to ethernet adapter. The ones I've looked over (like from Belkin) seem to be designed for an ethernet connection only to provide networking access TO an iPhone or iPad as well as provide power (but not connectivity) using a Lightning cable. I don't believe it would work where the iPhone could be used as the internet source to other devices on a wired ethernet LAN. Battery Life: Using Ethernet for internet connectivity on your iPhone can help conserve battery life since it doesn’t require the device to constantly search and maintain a wireless connection. After connecting the Ethernet adapter to your iPhone, you need to configure the Ethernet settings to ensure proper functionality. Follow these steps to configure the settings:
