About this deal

Yeah, that rings a bell. I did the stay-at-home mom thing for a couple of decades, so there's another thing we have in common. He thinks we’re what we look like on the outside: nice Southern ladies. Let me tell you something…there’s nothing nice about Southern ladies.” The wives kept their silence till their children’s lives are also in danger. Could they stop this dangerous man? Is he a real man or is he a kind of supernatural creature? Let’s find out! Take That!: To Tom Clancy, whose prose Patricia compares to that of an insurance salesman trying to sound like a military man. But marriage changed all that. She's now a stay-at-home mom and with the way her husband treats her...it is a sobering thought, the life that's ahead of her.

In every book we read, no one ever thought anything bad was happening until it was too late. This is where we live, it’s where our children live, it’s our home. Don’t you want to do absolutely everything you can to keep it safe?”This is not one of Hendrix’s lighter books. This is hardcore, graphic, physically and psychologically violent, gory horror. The gory parts are hard to read and the psychological horror even tougher. There are some funny moments but it’s not humor and it sure isn’t romance.

Every meeting they go over the latest true-crime or grisly detective book. It is the one time that Patricia feels like herself. Devil in Plain Sight: James is one of these as Patricia becomes more and more aware of this; it's suggested, in fact, that he used the boundaries of polite society to achieve this, rather than his actual vampiric powers. There is an artful way to weave comedic satire with heavy topics like racism, misogyny, and sexism, but Hendrix just didn't quite get there imho. I do respect the guy for the attempt, but man, I expected this to be so much better than it was. The following version of this book was used to create this study guide: Hendrix, Grady. Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires. Quirk Books, 2020. Kindle. The southern book club's guide to slaying vampires, 2020, ISBN 978-1-0941-3695-0, OCLC 1147251774 , retrieved 2020-07-11 Feel free to invite some friends to join our Round Table community!http://www.goodreads.com/group/invite_members/26989-goodreads-authors-readers This book had me at the description of it being a cross between Fried Green Tomatoes, Steel Magnolias and Dracula! What’s not to love about that? There are underlying messages about women’s roles, sexism, patriarchy, racism, and domestic abuse. This is delicious satire that highlights the strength of women who won’t tolerate being gaslighted by the men in their lives. There is violence and gore, this is a vampire book, after all, but the humor makes it easier to swallow. The first chapters had me laughing out loud.
