About this deal

I micetti dell'agro Bresciano, descritti ed illustrati con figure tratte dal vero (Carlo Antonio Venturi, 1845 - 60) If you’re simply interested in mushroom art then we suggest you take a look at Mushroom Botanical Art by Toshimitsu Fukiharu. That being said, aside from a coffee table art book, I don't believe this book offers much, which makes the ebook less worthwhile. I believe a collection of essays, either interspersed or added in another section, would help take this over the top. Essentially, for this to really feel like a good ebook, it needed more, in my opinion.

You learn all about sterilizing the equipment to produce your magic mushrooms, building containers to use during home cultivation, and all the safety measures you need to take to prevent contamination of the mushroom cultures. This guide is for those who want to consume magic mushrooms in a safe and enjoyable way. The book is written by Virginia Haza and Dr. K. Mandrake, Ph.D. Dr. Mandrake studied mycology and he uses his knowledge to detail the botany and history of psilocybin mushrooms. He imparts the knowledge he’s gathered to give you an idea of their popularity throughout human history. It’s a highly detailed and comprehensive bible that offers actionable insights for those looking to produce magic mushrooms. However, some customers have reported that it is best suited to beginners than more advanced mushroom growers. Botanists, researchers and mycologists including Paulet, Perard, Lucand and Vittadini (his Amanita muscaria details are breathtaking) depict common and uncommon species with such passion, knowledge and attention. Bulliard's descriptions and detail are out of this world! Truly lovely. I am so grateful for those who found detailing mushrooms important for future study. In this book, Merlin Sheldrake, a young biologist, gives you a different perspective. You get the fungal point of view. Sheldrake’s approach touches on everything from yeast to psychedelics. He touches on the fungi that link plants together in intricate networks and those that span over several miles underground. After reading this book, you might question human evolution and intelligence. Fungi are surprisingly precise and the author examines their roles as key players in most of life‘s processes. The goal is to change your mind, understand how fungi can heal your body, and explore deeper to prevent environmental disasters. This book is gorgeously illustrated throughout and contains information on over 450 species of fungi from all over the globe. You get to enjoy clear photographs of all the different types of mushrooms and with each image, you get annotations and descriptions. The book explains the different anatomical sections and features of fungi. You can then organize your own foraging finds using the visual ID guides. The book also contains key information on fruiting, habitats, and it helps you identify edible and poisonous mushrooms.

They are all highly individualistic and unique, and one cannot help but sense the passion of those involved in their production. In the illustrations of mushrooms in section... the half-cut figures charmingly appear to adopt an elegant pose toward the viewer... The beauty of the illustrations shines forth even more brightly." A big thank you to netgalley, for providing me this ARC of Mushroom Botanical Art by Toshimitsu Fukiharu in exchange for an honest review! Atlas des Champignones de l'arrosdissement de Montluçon (Alexandre Jules César Pérard, Jean-Louis Lucand, 1861 - 71) However, it should be noted that this book does use a lot of scientific terms and explanations which may be confusing to some people. Pros and Cons of Entangled Life: How Fungi Make Our Worlds, Change Our Minds & Shape Our Futures by Merlin Sheldrake Pros Fungi finds are delightful and memorable...the foreword sums up my feelings on fungi precisely. My recollections of thousands of individual sightings are forever etched on my mind, where and what the circumstances were. Mushroom botanical art is beautiful, functional and important. This book includes several gorgeous botanical art collection excerpts mostly from Europe and Japan before the invention of photography, often with longitudinal dissections and anatomical views which are crucial in identification. The illustrations and colours are so incredible the mushrooms are easily identifiable, often as well as (or better!) than photographs.

Atlas des champignons comestibles at vénéneux de la France et des pays circonvoisins (Charles Richon, Ernest Roze, 1888)

It's a fascinating book of history with beautiful illustrations. I would not recommend it as a field guide, but as an interesting book full of fungi, it's wonderful. This would make a nice selection for public library acquisition, for gardeners, gardening groups, smallholders, and lovers of botanical art.I just love botany books, the drawings are often so gorgeous and pretty bringing the plant to life in front of your eyes. So this one definitely had to come with me on my Netgalley shelf. This is a true work of art & knowledge that looks like it belongs in an ancient library ( which is a totally amazing compliment coming from me) just as much as it belongs in EVERY library! So much fun to read & observe. I truly enjoyed this so very much.
