About this deal

Caviar and cream in some variation is another Noma signature, which comes in a brilliant version for the game and forest season. The caviar is from the Danish producer Rossini, so high quality, and served with a dollop of the lightest whipped cream you can imagine (with tiny sprinkles of salt on top, I believe). The two ingredients are paired with a cold pheasant broth, which has formed a jelly in the bottom of the bowl. I loved this one! We’ve pondered this question in the past decade after taking the jump from casual food lovers to obsessed epicureans. We don’t have a clear answer. Instead, it’s more of a guttural feeling – a ‘we know it when we taste it’ kind of thing. Serving guests will still be a part of who we are, but being a restaurant will no longer define us.

Words, pictures and even the restaurant’s enormous pedigree can’t convey the enormity of the experience we shared. Its chef René Redzepi has been hailed for transforming Nordic cuisine, serving dishes such as edible pinecones, ragout of reindeer, and crispy marigold with whiskey egg yolk sauce. But even though it will become a test kitchen, diners will still be able to snag the occasional meal, with Noma promising to organise pop-up restaurants from time to time, in Copenhagen and abroad.

Complete with easy timer which allows you to set your lights to come on for the same 8 hours each day, simply press the button when you want them to come on and they will stay on for 8 hours. They will come on at the same time every day until you reset them! If you would prefer the timer can be turned off completely. Weeks after eating at the legendary restaurant, after our lives had returned to their normal rhythm, we couldn’t stop glancing into each other’s eyes, wistfully realizing that we had eaten at the best restaurant in the world. We’d then announce “we ate as Noma!” as a reminder and private badge of glory. We’d love to know who else would take a bus to such an extravagant event. On one hand, it seems silly not to spring for a taxi. Then again, perhaps the bus is more appropriate because, despite Noma’s astronomical price, something about the place still feels grounded and unpretentious. Food At Noma In this dish, shaved beets were arranged like flower petals over plum and piquant cloudberries. His dedication to truly local ingredients – no lemons, no olive oil, no nutmeg or cinnamon in the northern climes of Denmark, so no place for them on the menu – shaped a whole generation of chefs who care about where their food comes from. It’s also responsible for the menu trope “all food is sourced locally where possible” and usually means that Kenyan green beans and Peruvian asparagus will feature. Measuring an impressive 190cm in height, this stately reindeer stands as a magnificent centrepiece, commanding attention and spreading joy to all who behold it, making it perfect for any festive display. Additionally, the convenient assembly process allows the reindeer to be effortlessly pieced together in 4 parts, ensuring a hassle-free setup experience.

I first ate at Noma a dozen years ago, when it was still in a damp semi-basement with paint peeling off the wall; they moved to the sleek, stripped-wood “Noma 2.0” in 2018. Once again, I was disappointed by the desserts, which have been the weakest link in all the seasons. Hopefully, this will improve next year, as I think it simply hasn’t been the main focus of the test kitchen. The chocolate-covered reindeer moss is just a revival of an old Noma classic, but fits well with the seasonal theme, of course. Noma’s menu descriptions, which are given after the final plate has been served, paint a simple picture but Redzepi’s flavorful food can be deceivingly complex. Surprisingly deep flavors burst from every plate, belying the advanced, bistro-gastronomic elements and techniques used to create each unique dish.The restaurant, by choice, seats fewer than 100 diners each day. Tens of thousands of people attempt to pry one of Noma’s precious few tables the moment that each dining ‘season’ opens for reservations. It’s that competitive.

We even ate bear. Noma may be the only restaurant in the world that serves bear dumplings. The spoon on the side featured a drizzle of “Bear Caramel.” Battery-powered and plug-in LED outdoor reindeer lights are available, so you can place your light-up deer wherever they look best. Our outdoor and indoor-outdoor Christmas light-up reindeer will be able to withstand cold and wet wintry weather too, so you can be sure your herd will last a lifetime. But, in some ways, Noma is an anomaly with food that takes its cues from molecular gastronomy as much as from ecology. We have immense appreciation and understanding for what Noma offers and appreciate the fact that more than a few people won’t understand it.

For 20 years, René Redzepi has reigned over both the world’s best and most caricatured restaurant. But not for much longer. Redzepi has announced that the Copenhagen restaurant will close for regular service at the end of next year. It will re-open in 2025 as a test kitchen and e-commerce business. The LED components are now made from copper which eliminates the traditional problem of rust within the bulb holder.
