About this deal

Standing tall over the forest, Drycha Hamadreth, daughter of Alarielle, leads outcasts into battle with a hallowing cry. Her voice shakes the ground her roots grow from, and her hatred for all things that aren’t Sylvaneth rings true. The eldest of these Soul-pods are echoes of the World-That-Was, and within them there is a potent magic that cleanses the land in which they grow. [9b] The Sylvaneth are staunch allies of Sigmar’s throng – even Drycha Hamadreth , the vengeance of scorned woodlands made manifest. Yet her patience for the crude warriors of humanity has its limits, and in this week’s edition of the Dawnbringer Chronicles, the blundering of some careless cannoneers may just break the bough. The Sylvaneth, who were attuned to the natural world, felt the cold winds of death before the Necroquake even happened. Alarielle convinced Drycha Hamadreth and the Dreadwood Glade to go to Shyish fight against Nagash in the Soul Wars as her forces were on purifying Ghyran from the forces of Nurgle. [9e] Biology Then came the Age of Chaos, and the horrors of the Wars of Reaping. After long years of battle, the last sylvaneth defenders of Vastclaw Valley were burned alive within the toppled ruins of their beloved shrine. Where once the glittering seeds of the bladewillows had drifted down across the Thunderlands, now there fell only a rain of ash. [3b]

Deadly Harvest – C asting value of 6. If successfully cast, each enemy unit within 3″ of the caster suffers D3 mortal wounds, rolling separately for each unit. Can be good on one of your many, many warrior-wizards who don’t mind getting into combat, but can be hard to set up. C+ The servants of Chaos seek to destroy these soulpods with great fervour, for they allow the Sylvaneth to restore their numbers. [9b] Lamentiri This is a nice one. Most of the Lore is healing and Buff spells and making sure your friendlies are never too far away is always handy. B- At some point, Drycha was able to intervene in the ancient ritual that awakened Orion, King of the Woods. With the demi-god trapped in icy slumber, the Briarmaven gathered a vast army of forest-spirits and disgraced, spider-tattooed Elves from the Wildwood. Marching upon the Oak of Ages, seeking to free their lord, the Wood Elves of Athel Loren engaged in a great battle with Drycha's malevolent forces. [2] Another volley,’ shouted the largest human, whose bare chest was cross-crossed by bandoliers. ‘Load some drakesbreath canisters, lads. Raise your barrels a quarter-mark, and let ‘em have it.’Similarly, the Warsong Revenant is a contentious choice. A warrior-wizard with a 4+ ward but only 7 wounds and a 5+ save he can be difficult to use correctly. His +1 to casting when near a Wyldwood makes him potentially the best caster in your list. His combat profile is surprisingly decent, and hes a good candidate for Flaming Weapon. Similar to Alarielle, include him if you like him, but you won’t be missing much if you don’t. Army Ability: Our Roots Run Deep –Subtract 2 from the wounds counter when consulting the degrading statline on Treelords or Spirits of Durthu. Rules like this have come along later that are better, and 2 wounds may or may not be able to make the difference. When it does, it’s clutch though. Jotunberg: Massive giants whose heads scrape the clouds, a kind of living winter that dwell in the north of the Realm of Ghyran, one dying giant saved Alarielle and her followers by spanning the Sea of Serpents with its glacial body. [3]

You only get one lore but it’s filled with fantastic buff spells that would make many other armies generous. Often the challenge is having enough Wizards to cast what you’d like. Lore of the Deepwood Drycha is constantly torn between depression and rage and only reluctantly recognises her mother's authority, Alarielle having named her an Outcast due to her frequent assaults on allies as much as enemies. In truth she sees no difference between the warriors of Chaos and humans, Orruks or Stormcast Eternals - as to her all are invaders and enemies. [1a] Magic The Drycha Hamadreth is one of my favourite Sylvaneth models currently available, and in this review I’ll tell you exactly why that is. I’ll also talk you through how she performs on the battlefield, and the reasoning behind the paint scheme that I chose for this project. Ancient SpiritsIf you have the opportunity to take this it can be valuable, as Sylvaneth has a really solid lore. Combines well with Spiritsong Stave to get an extra cast in as well. In my box I had a really nice casting of pieces and sprues. No pieces were damaged or bent out of place, and everything was in the box and accounted for. However, there are quite a few spindly pieces that make up this set, and I've come to expect it from the Sylvaneth units. It’s not a negative, and ust means that you need to take care when removing the pieces from the sprue and assembling them.

Small change to the Large Settlement Territory making it a bit more expensive to add a Hero to your roster, decreasing your Glory by 2 now instead of 1 and then if you have the City Wall upgrade decreasing by 3 instead of by 2. I haven’t played quite enough Path to Glory just yet but so far from the Fyreslayers, Kharadron, and Maggotkin rosters I’ve looked at you have access to enough Heroes anyways so this shouldn’t be a huge deal to your campaign and it makes enough sense that Heroes cost just a little more! The high ground and sparse trees here gave Drycha the perfect view of the human fortress. This was Fort Gardus, home to silver warriors who called themselves saints. Lightning danced across its battlements, illuminating a terrible slaughter, as towering Mega-Gargants elbowed their way into the keep’s courtyard. In the overgrown valleys at the foot of the fortress, a second battle raged, green-clad crusaders struggling to reach the walls and break the siege. The thunder of their guns was for nought. They had come too late, and the enemy was too many.Although the Hamadreth is quite a spindly model, it stands tall and sturdy on its base once completed. And if you wanted to use magnets to make the arms and weapons interchangeable, you could easily include that in the building process. Song Of Flitterfuries And Squirmlings Drycha seethed to witness such thoughtless devastation. So typical of humans. She had killed for less. All that stayed her rage was the reminder of the words of the Everqueen’s herald, that foolish sapling Tethamyr. Alarielle did not begrudge the Queen of the Outcasts her vendettas, but neither would she countenance open war with the city-dwellers. Drycha had tasted the Everqueen’s wrath before and did not wish to witness it again. The decreases to the 4 mounted Heroes are nice to see if not a little surprising given that they just received mount traits, the Griffon one being especially good as well, from the Tome Celestial in White Dwarf. The Irondrakes are a solid staple of just about any Cities of Sigmar army putting out a punishing amount of firepower so this makes a lot of sense, making many existing lists go up 30 points f After the ages of war Sylvaneth have become untrusting of those outside their kind and aggressively protect their forest homes.
