There's little room given to ever flesh out side characters, but even more so when it comes to the few women we're introduced to. Unsurprisingly, most of which are written in a negative light with little good things to be said about them. It's literally only Kimberly that we hear good things about because she's not like other girls. That being said, the pacing in this could have used work and especially room to breathe between scenes. Kimberly has no friends with the low effort put into actually making any, which bleeds into the rest of the book and leads to no anticipation for future Aaron/Kimberly scenes. Aaron is legit golden retriever mixed with a lottabit of Cujo. But I literally love him. The character growth and relationship growth from both books was so much and i’m just really proud of Aaron 🥹 Being in hiding was easier than you’d think. Just keep your head down, don’t draw too much attention to yourself. Pretty simple, right? Well, it had nearly been a year and Tommy hadn’t been caught. I also LOVE Zach, Luke, and Presley!! I love how strong their bond is, the fact that they are willing to do anything for each other. How SUPPORTIVE they are of Aaron and Kimberly!! And I love that Kimberly finally has a family that loves her unconditionally 🥹 This book is marketed as a captor / captive - enemies to lovers to enemies - messy /relationship… with spice. And all of that is 100% accurate! But also I wanted more? Our MMC is .... wow 🥵. Sin is not only written to be incredibly swoon-worthy, but he is also very complex and contributes more to the story than just a pretty face. He is truly a morally grey character and the romance is ACTUALLY enemies to lovers. The slow-burn tension on this one is 🤌🤌🤌This story feels, to me, like one of those books where the characters are everything. Everything. Without these characters, the story wouldn't be as good for me, truly. It pains my soul to know I'll have to wait 1 year to return to the Calem brothers and Kim 😭. This is my second book I've read of Tuli's and I will say it again, her prose is stunning. Her descriptions and use of imagery create beautiful images, and her cadence is effortless to read. I got the opportunity to read this book as a eARC and...it did NOT disappoint. Everything within is immaculate. The writing. The plot and pacing. The characters! Now that Kimberly’s life is undeniably intertwined with Aaron’s, the future remains unclear. And with the pressures of college life and The Legion hovering over the brothers’ every move, she wonders if she’s bitten off more than she can chew. She wants to remain a part of Aaron’s life, but at what cost?
