About this deal

Furthermore, we may (without prior notice and without giving reasons) change, delete or alter any Contributions, whether in whole or in part, that in our sole judgment and discretion violates these Terms, is unlawful, is in any way harmful to you, Members, us, the Service or any third parties. Bunnahabhain takes pride in its commitment to preserving the natural flavors of its whiskies, with a focus on using natural color and non-chill filtration. With warehouses positioned along the shore and a bay fed by the Sound of Islay, there is no escaping the salty sea air, especially when you’re maturing by it for a minimum of 18 years. Toffee notes persist, offering a delightful contrast to the slight tang of salt that lingers on the taste buds.

I'd been highly fond of the affordable nature of Glen Scotia Victoriana of late and they have a lot in common in their sherried sweetness and their gentler approaches to more commonly robustly dealt out Isla style angles. The descending scores in this review shouldn’t make you think that my opinion of Bunnahabhain is similarly declining. Bottled at cask strength, it intensifies the whisky's spice, black pepper, and cinnamon flavours without losing its unpeated, sherried essence, and enhances the mouthfeel. The deep mahogany colour of the whisky gives away the exclusive sherry cask maturation and the tang of salt on the tongue reminds you of our coastal location. They contain great and good (and sometimes not so good) whisky from folks who are interested in my opinion, or who are merely keen to spread the love around. The Bunnahabhain Toiteach A Dhà has a touch of smoke in our peated malted barley whisky, introduced during its creation and combined with a higher sherry influence, this special bottling offers the connoisseur an opportunity to try something truly unique and beguiling in nature. Our 18 Year Old is one of our most awarded Single Malts and once you’ve tasted it you’ll understand the wealth of gold medals it has achieved. As a result, Bunnahabhain Distillery remains a cherished destination for those seeking a serene and contemplative Islay whisky experience, with each bottle unveiling the hidden tranquility and allure of the island's gentle spirit.

V. is the Dutch private limited liability company, having its statutory seat in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and its office at Zwaanshals 530, 3035 KS Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Unusually for an Islay single malt, our 18 year old is unpeated, allowing the sweet coastal character of our island to shine through. As 18 long year swept over the land scape this single malt has been slowly evolving into a complex dram with hidden depths.

Mellow sherried nuts create a velvety texture, complemented by the nuanced sweetness of dried fruits.

It is a beautifully balanced whisky and the palate is influenced by sherried nuts and shavings of the finest natural oak wood. Without prejudice to the section Liability below, the Service may be temporarily unavailable during maintenance, updates, etc. We'll send them to be recycled and you'll save paper, carbon emissions and time at the recycling centre! Moving along to the senior member of the group: this is the 18 Year Old, coming to us non-chill filtered and at its natural colour (huzzah! There’s a really saturated oak scent to it too – like the smell of barrels on the inside of a distillery’s warehouse – with a final little spice from the casks to add punctuation to the whole profile .At other points, however, this falls a bit flat, with the weakness concentrated mostly in the mouth. Whilst that is not a super approachable tasting note for everyone, once you know it, then you really know it.
