My heart just wasn’t in the whole quest to find the dragon Icefyre and as a result I had to occasionally push myself to keep reading. Fitz fits the feathers from the treasure beach into it and discovers that it is nothing more than an artifact containing the memories of several minstrels. He is the only person he has ever granted the knowledge of his true name, but he is also his tool: his catalyst. The Witted Coterie are helpful in locating him but as the digging gets deeper are unhappy about the idea of killing the dragon.

But when the major inciting incident happens out of nowhere to kick off the climactic sequence, it was just a mind-blowing Hobb-alanche from there on out. Fitz brings the Fool's body through the pillars to the market square in the Mountains they previously visited on their quest to find Verity.Only after this task is complete will they be married and bring an end to war between their kingdoms.

It's leagues ahead of all others (except for The Mad Ship, also by Hobb, which was recently my favourite book.This had a great ending, one that allows the story to move even further forward in the future as Hobb protagonist enters a new stage of life. Some of the changes in Fitz's character between the two series are made more clear, but I didn't have enough time to adapt to that revelation. She also offered Elliania and her uncle to deliver Fitz and the Fool to her in exchange for the bodies of the Narcheska's mother and sister.

A British English paperback edition was issued in London by Voyager/ Harpercollins in 2003 with ISBN 0-00-224728-3. It’s extremely well-written and I think the majority of Hobb’s fans will easily think of this book as a 10000000/5 stars book. I’m more of a fan of Wit magic system, the repercussions seems to be more evident in comparison to Skill. Fitz, now Tom Badgerlock, must now accompany Prince Dutiful on his quest to kill the dragon Icefyre as tasked by Ellania, to prove his worthiness.Thick is constantly ill, and his random but powerful Skilling has taken on a dark and menacing tone, while Chade's fascination with the Skill is growing to the point of obsession.
