About this deal

Oracular Spectacular captures the zeal and reckless abandon of youth in every track, that unbridled exploratory energy accentuating moments of deep wisdom. The album features some of MGMT's most popular and well-known songs, such as "Electric Feel" and "Kids. Oracular Spectacular is the first major label studio album by MGMT and ultimately enjoyed both critical approval and commercial success, with the album selling over 500,000 copies in the U. It's a record that embodies a whole world of vulnerability, confusion and unsteadiness without losing shape. If this was a vinyl release I would say side one is excellent, starting with "Alien Days" (check out the nightmarish video on YouTube).

The vinyl mix is supposedly "enhanced," however, on certain songs, like "Kids" (last song on Side 1), the bass is pounding away, and it sounds a little distorted, and the vocals are fuzzy-sounding.

This is an idea that will split people into those who think it's a muggy and terrible idea and others who think it's a brilliant idea. In the edit page, go to the 'Metadata' tab and add your Juno artist, label or release page for listeners to purchase your release / releases. C'est certainement le plus abouti de MGMT, et le plus sincère, là où Congratulations (que j'adore) était peut-être trop lisse et régulier (malgré Siberian Breaks et Flash Delirium). even if some of the sounds and vocals, like on "Electric Feel," take considerable cues from the likes of the Bee Gees and The Doors. Yes, there is a code with the album, but the offer for the free download ended on 1/23/09 (it's February 10th 2009, during the writing of this review).

Catchy tracks that combine late 70s/early 80s neo-psychedelic music with modern pop and dance tracks make for a consistent set of tracks, with great meaningful lyrics (something that seems to be lacking elsewhere in today's music), great instrument playing (with solos and extended instrumental sections reminiscent of early Pink Floyd - Of Moons, Birds and Monsters is a stand out track on this front) and a few popular tracks to make it still appeal to the masses. You could do a cover on a finger-picked acoustic guitar of "A Good Sadness" and it would be a spellbinding song to listen to.The successor to 2008’s Oracular Spectacular and 2010’s Congratulations , MGMT sees the band continuing to push themselves to expand the boundaries of modern pop music. It's weird enough for the artsy indie fans and accessible enough for any patient listener to appreciate and enjoy, given time.
