About this deal

Given all that spectacular scenery and open space, it naturally follows that camping in Scotland is a splendid idea: what better way to make the most of all that fresh air and those fine views than to settle right there in the open air? buildings under the watchful eye of the Edinburgh castle towering over the city, and marvel at the Scottish Crown Jewels and the "Stone of Destiny" inside the castle. Alongside displaying the locations of over official 400 sites, this easy to use touring map provides essential information on the units accepted at each site along with contact details. The 136 sea view sites range from the largest holiday parks near major cities like Edinburgh to small, community-run camping areas on the tiny islands that bejewel the Atlantic sea. Built in compartments kept all our stuff organised and I'm pretty sure I've picked the perfect tent for our future adventures.

Climb to the top of the extinct volcano, Arthur’s Seat which perches above the city and is visible from most places. Formerly known for trade and shipbuilding, today for culture, music and art, the city presents itself in a lively, versatile fashion and fascinates the wide variety of campers in Scotland. Scotland has over 790 islands, around a 100 of which are inhabited, and visiting them is a real treat. With our extensive roaming and camping rights, there are many options when it comes to enjoying a tent holiday. The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh offers a huge 72 acres of land to explore and views of Edinburgh’s fantastic skyline with no entry cost. Many centuries ago, volcanoes and glaciers formed the Glen Coe valley landscape in what is now the Scottish Highlands. We bought a second map as suggested by another reviewer, so that we had easier access to the site details that are printed on the reverse. You can go wild camping almost anywhere in Scotland, it all depends which type of surrounding and atmosphere you are looking for.

The site hosts hardstanding EHU pitches and EHU grass pitches for tents with all facilities available.

These actions are not only harmful to nature and the landscape, they risk our outdoor privileges being revoked or restricted which has already happened in parts of Loch Lomond. The imposing castles are just as captivating as the great cities of Glasgow and Edinburgh, which will captivate you with the Fringe, Hogmanay and Burns Night. Our campsite finder section has lots of handy filters where you can see the results on a map of a list.

Then May and June are the right months for you, as this is the time of year with the least rainfall in Scotland.Sitting on a dramatic and rocky shore, the site’s adjacent beach is the perfect place to gather as night begins to fall, with cameras and telescopes at the ready, for a spot of stargazing. Scotland is known for golf and there are some world class links courses here including St Andrews, Turnberry and Muirfield. Wild camping in Scotland is still possible, and there are small, intimate campsites littered across the islands which are run by the islands' close-knit communities.
