Beachcomber was introduced in 1985 as one of the Autobots stationed on Earth. He was quite unusual as he was a pacifist who preferred not to fight and instead commune with nature (which fit into his duties as a geologist). Over the years, he has had a few action figures made post- G1 including one in Generation 2, then later in Universe 2.0 and more recently in Power of the Primes . This is the first time he has been made into a Deluxe Class figure. RED is just so odd though. From the overall design of the figures in how the articulation works to the materials used. I get that each toyline within Hasbro has their own teams to work on them but how is it that none of the 6in action figure lines reuse concepts and designs from the others. They should be able to share notes at least if not "borrow" people from one line to work on another. I get whey they have to do who they do but if at least Hasbro marketed RED as a supplementary line to Generations then it would be for the better. If they used RED to make figures of non-transforming characters instead of non-transforming versions of characters that are supposed to be able to transform they might get more sales. Or at least, get more fans to support them. There's plenty of characters that can be used in this fashion. Pretenders, Lithonians, Quintessons, different guards throughout the series, comic only characters like Hook, Line and Sinker and so on. If the lead team was sent to defend Centre City, the Autobots’ next objective was to meet up with Sparkplug They consulted him on whether the Autobots should enter Centre City in their robot modes, or in their vehicle modes.
When the Minibots excavated a mysterious mech, Beachcomber was astute enough to recognize the Predacon symbol may have been descendant from the Decepticon sigil. Henkei! Henkei! volume 11 Bot on the Street If Sparkplug suggested that the Autobots remain in their vehicle modes, he would concoct a plan where the Autobots would help evacuate the entire town in their vehicle modes. With no more than four trips in and out of the city, Beachcomber and the rest of the team carried out the plan without incident. With the humans out of harm's way, the Autobots transformed and engaged the approaching Decepticons, whom they easily dispatch. With the city safe, the Autobots moved out to help their comrades at the Decepticon fortress.

He also includes a small " Paradise Parakeet", seemingly inspired by the bird Beachcomber encountered in the episode " The Golden Lagoon". It sits on a blast effect-style post, allowing it plug into 5mm ports or over 3mm pegs throughout both of Beachcomber's modes. Said bird also gets top billing, and is named alongside Beachcomber himself on the box. Its name is likely a reference to the paradise parrot, which went extinct nearly 100 years ago, giving Beachcomber something else to be sad about. If the trio decided instead to look for an alternate entrance, they discovered a narrow passageway hidden behind some bushes and scrubs. Taking the passageway, Beachcomber's squad emerged into a storage room. Leading out of the storage room was a passage not unlike the one from which they had just emerged and a brightly lit corridor. While Powerglide wanted to explore the bright corridor and Windcharger wanted to investigate the dark passageway, Beachcomber considered looking for other places to explore in the storage room.

Just as with the Energon Monsters, I hope these are Weaponizer type characters if they still get made. I love those things. Otherwise, I'd like to see female Junkions like Nancy.Swing the lower legs over the thighs. Connect the cage pieces together and connect the tabs in the front of the arms into the slots on the lower legs.
