HRC Fuse Types High rupturing capacity (HRC) fuses feature a transparent capsule around the central resistor.

Well, in fact, the UK plug may be bigger but it is designed that way on purpose to be safer than any other plug in the world. Whether you are rewiring a plug that is already in use or wiring up a new plug for the first time it is important to get it right. Be warned, if you are tempted to use something like a paperclip or piece of tinfoil wrapped around an old fuse or a nail, don’t. It is extremely dangerous and could result in electrocution, a fire or total failure of your appliance.
